HIANN Sponsored Skiing, Boarding and Adaptive Skiing Event
With Achieve Tahoe At Alpine Meadows Ski Resort
When: March 28, 2019 From 1:30 To 4:00
HIANN is sponsoring a skiing event through Achieve Tahoe, another local non-profit organization, for any interested HIANN survivor. The event will include ski rental equipment, lift ticket, and a personal lesson from an expert Achieve Tahoe instructor. For those survivors with mobility disabilities, Achieve Tahoe will recommend one of the different skiing options as indicated in our photographs above. For those survivors without mobility or balance issues, Achieve Tahoe will provide individual or small group lessons for boarders and skiers. Guests, family and caregivers are encouraged to attend to take pictures and provide transportation. This event is only being provided to survivors in good membership standing.
Lesson requirements include: You must provide your own form of transportation to the ski rental location and then on to Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. If you are interested in an adaptive skiing lesson, you must not exceed 185 pounds. Achieve Tahoe provides all adaptive skiing equipment.
There is paperwork to process for Achieve Tahoe. It must be completed and received by Jeff no later than December 16th. If you are interested, contact Jeff immediately.
It will be cold, so you must have proper clothing for a skiing adventure.
You must make your formal reservation with Jeff by December 12th. No reservations will be taken after this date.
Some members might qualify for a scholarship through Achieve Tahoe, so HIANN may ask you to consider submitting a scholarship application to assist HIANN with the cost of the event, which will cost over $100 per participant.
