Nevada Day Parade

HIANN enters a “float” in the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City. HIANN members and guests are invited to help decorate the float and ride in the parade.

Come join us for the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City!

Come join HIANN members, friends, family and guests riding on our float the “Hume Rock Crawler” at the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday, October 26. We expect to meet in our designated location     between at 8:30 - 9:00 am to decorate the “Crawler.” We will have a truck with banners pulling an open equipment trailer loaded with hay bales and the Crawler running behind the trailer. There should be comfortable seating for those that want to ride or we can place your wheelchair on the trailer. Also, if you have a trike and can get it to this event, please feel free to ride alongside the Crawler. The parade is scheduled to start at 10:00 am and we should be in the front half of the parade line. More location information will be sent to all of those members that want to participate soon. Please wear your HIANN t-shirt and warm layered clothing given it might be a bit cold in the morning then turning much warmer in the afternoon, with a forecast of 70 degrees. Last year it took 2 hours to complete our wait and journey down North Carson Street past the Capitol Buildings, so we expect to finish this year at about noon to 12:30. The completion location/pickup area is on Stewart Street behind the Carson Mall. For those walking and/or riding their trikes, we will have a number of items to handout to the crowd including candy to children. We had a great time the past five years in the parade, so we hope you can participate. Please let Jeff McDaniel know if you plan on attending at jeff@mcdaniel.net  call/text (209) 482-8562
